Sue Canter has recently returned to full-time teaching at The Donoho School as one of our PreK teachers. Mrs. Canter has served many roles at Donoho, spanning from admissions to transportation coordinator to teacher. Most of our students have had the privilege of knowing Mrs. Canter. Her philosophy is that all children benefit from consistent expectations and consistent consequences.
Q. Why do you like teaching at The Donoho School?
A: I have been blessed to work with so many wonderful teachers and administrators during my teaching career here at Donoho. The inspiration, motivation, and dedication of our faculty is contagious. Our families and their students are all special to me. My life is richer for having been a part of The Donoho Family for over thirty years.
Q. What is a unique experience, talent, or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?
A. I am excited to find each student’s individual talent and to meet individual needs. I work hard to help each student reach their full potential. I love seeing the world through the eyes of a four-year-old! I love to learn and I want to give my students a love of learning and an innate curiosity that motivates them to explore and understand the world around them.
Q. What’s your favorite part about your new role at Donoho?
A. I love getting to know my students and their families. Developing an educational partnership early makes for a successful school experience for the whole family. The Pre-K classroom is my happy place!!
If someone were to observe my classroom on any given day, they would see ORGANIZED CHAOS!! But don’t run before you notice…. the purposeful play that fuels our learning, lots of problem-solving, and some lively social interaction. Never a dull moment!!
