The Donoho School admits students of average to above average ability, who have demonstrated the willingness to perform well, and for whom parents have college aspirations. Schedule a campus visit, and if you’d like to pursue enrollment, we’ll walk you through the admissions process.

Admissions Process:

The following must be completed or received before a student’s application will be considered for enrollment:  

  • Application for admission
  • Application & Testing fee ($100.00)
  • Admissions Testing   
  • Transcript / school records (for students applying for admission to grades 1‐12)
  • Copy of Nationally normed, standardized test scores from the most recent school year available (e.g., Stanford Achievement Test, Iowa Test of Basic Skills, California Achievement Test, etc.)  
  • Teacher Recommendation Forms.  Confidential recommendation from most current English teacher, math teacher, and principal or counselor

It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure that all required information has been submitted to the Admissions Office. A student’s file must be complete before the admissions committee will review it.

APPLICATION TIMETABLE 

The Donoho School utilizes a rolling admissions procedure with applications accepted throughout the school year.  Parents of candidates are informed of the admission committee’s decision within two weeks after their files are complete. 

TESTING 

The Donoho School requires that all applicants complete a battery of entrance tests. Students applying for admission to pre‐kindergarten and kindergarten are given an aptitude test as well as an early childhood inventory. Students applying for admission to first through twelfth grades are given an aptitude test as well as one or more tests of reading comprehension and fluency. A test of mathematical proficiency may also be administered. The testing/application fee is $100.

INTERVIEWS 

While The Donoho School does not require formal interviews as part of the admissions process, a school official will meet with each student for an informal interview during a campus tour or prior to his/her file being presented to the admissions committee.  Campus visits and opportunities to learn more about the program before making the decision to apply are also encouraged.
