Dear Donoho Community,
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Mrs. Beatrice Plummer Potts Woodruff. Her commitment to the Episcopal Day School, Anniston Academy, and ultimately The Donoho School was unmatched. As one of the four original individuals who came together to establish our school, she was a true believer in our mission, our dedication to students, and the importance of providing outstanding private school education to the young people of the Anniston area. As an honorary member of the Board of Directors, she remained a constant source of inspiration and a true reminder of the foundation on which Donoho was built.
On a personal note, I had the privilege of sharing lunch with Mrs. Woodruff on several occasions after coming on board as Head of School. Her love for Donoho was evident not only in her recollections of the school’s early history, but also in her genuine curiosity about where the school is today and where it is headed in the future. Her infectious enthusiasm for all that Donoho represents was deeply meaningful to me and showed the importance of the legacy I had been entrusted to preserve.
A link to her full obituary is included here. Please join me in extending our deepest condolences to her family, along with our sincere gratitude for the lasting impact Mrs. Woodruff has had on The Donoho School.
With sympathy,
David J. Noone
Head of School
