2025 Outstanding Alumni of the Year: Drue Taylor ’81 and Lee Taylor ’83

The Donoho School selects Outstanding Alumni of the Year annually to recognize graduates who have distinguished themselves through achievements since graduation. Past honorees have excelled in business, academia, medicine, and service. Our recipients epitomize the values of our mission. This year we have two who have gone above and beyond in the lines of service to the school and community. We are very proud to announce this year’s honorees, 2025 Outstanding Alumna Mrs. Drue Frazier Taylor ‘81 and 2025 Outstanding Alumnus Mr. Michael Lee Taylor ‘83.

Drue skipped her junior year to graduate a year early, was co-valedictorian of her class, and a National Merit Scholar. She has always been a very conscientious student, determined, and with a drive to learn while continuing her superior performance in the classroom. She was very involved in school as well as serving others in her community and church.

After Donoho, Drue continued her studies at the University of Alabama receiving her degree in General Business as well as a Masters of Business Administration. After years of working in the banking industry, she was able to stay home with her two sons when they were born. As they began school, she returned to work with her husband Lee at Taylor’s Accounting.

Most of Drue’s service over the years has centered around church, especially student ministry. Lee and Drue have hosted and led many small groups, taught Sunday School, chaperoned many student trips, and a highlight was leading a Bible Study for Donoho senior girls last year.

Lee and Drue are always there for each other and many of our Donoho students over the years. Lee has led many prayer breakfasts on Friday mornings. You will see them at sporting events cheering Donoho students on whether it’s football, volleyball, cross country – they are there to support and show love for others. The Taylors have been at many Donoho graduations, not just theirs, because many of the students they love as if they were their own and are there for them in all their milestones.

Lee moved to Anniston the summer after Drue graduated. One of their first dates was actually Lee’s senior prom in May 1983. They continued dating long distance while in college and were married in June of 1987. Lee was a leader in the classroom as well as on the football field. After graduation, Lee continued his studies at Birmingham-Southern College receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in May 1987. He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1990, owner and president of Taylor’s Accounting since 1999, where Drue works alongside him. They also volunteer together in student ministry.

Words that have been used to describe our recipients are – servants, giving, faithful, selfless, and supportive – as they have been pouring into the youth of our area for the last 30 years including many Donoho students. Lee and Drue have servant hearts, and it is a pleasure to recognize them both for their service to Donoho, our students, and our community.

Please join us in congratulating The Donoho School’s 2025 recipients Outstanding Alumna Mrs. Drue Frazier Taylor ‘81 and Outstanding Alumnus Mr. Michael Lee Taylor ‘83.
