Amelia Baker ’21

Alumni in the News: Congratulations to Amelia Baker ‘21 for being named to Jacksonville State University’s 2021-2022 Freshman Forum. After participating in an application and interview process, Amelia was selected and joined 93 other elite students of the freshman class in this role. Freshman Forum is an Elite Leadership Institute that allows freshmen at JSU to gain valuable leadership skills that will help them throughout college and in their careers. This year JSU has enrolled it’s largest freshman class, 1,818 first-time students. The university also posted its highest enrollment numbers in 138 years of recorded history with an overall headcount of 9,540 students. Wow.

Amelia plans to pursue a career in pharmaceutical sales, as she wants to be a pharmaceutical rep. For Freshman Forum, she is most excited to be involved in the philanthropy events around campus. The philanthropy focus is suicide prevention and awareness. These freshmen work social events on campus, community service events on campus, and community service in the surrounding area. Amelia says, “It is a great opportunity to build leadership skills and meet new people who have the same goals as you! I encourage anyone who is coming to JSU to join the Forum!” Here you can find more information regarding Freshman Forum and its objectives: https://bit.ly/3AowIB9
