Seth Ford ’19

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT (Below is the full Q&A for Seth from the 2021 SOAR Magazine Campus Greetings section.)Seth is majoring in Exercise Science at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and plans to graduate in December 2022. He has been accepted into the 3+3 Fast Track Doctorate Physical Therapy Program which allows him to graduate with a DPT in six years rather than seven. He will start PT School this upcoming summer.School Involvement: Campus Ministries and intramural sports teams (pictured: flag football)Favorite class: Exercise Physiology because I get to learn about all the ways our body makes energy which allows us to exercise.Favorite interests in downtime: I enjoy going to the gym to work out, cooking healthy meals, and enjoying the outdoors.Fun experience: Over Christmas break I took a trip to Ischgl, Austria, to snowboard the Swiss Alps with my cousin and family. We flew into Paris, France, got a connecting flight to Munich, Germany, and then drove to Ischgl, Austria. The next day we started snowboarding in Austria and Switzerland. So in two days I visited four different countries, even though we only stayed in Austria for our ten day trip. When you snowboard off the mountain one way you are in Austria, and if you go off the other side then you are in Switzerland. What a special trip to experience the Swiss Alps in person. Future Plans: I plan to open up my own Physical Therapy practice after graduating from Samford University.Advice: The biggest advice I could give anyone is to put your faith in Jesus Christ and he will guide you through all the ups and downs in your life. Second, do not let a day go by where you don’t strive to be better than the day before. Every day you wake up is a blessing and a new opportunity, so make the most of it.We are proud of you, Seth. Keep being a shining light to others.
