ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT (Below is the full campus greeting Q&A for Rivers from the 2021 SOAR magazine)Rivers received her undergraduate degrees at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in May 2021. She double-majored receiving a B.S.C.J. in Criminal Justice: Homeland Security and a B.A. in Spanish. She started law school in August at Regent University School of Law located in Virginia Beach with a tentative graduation date of Spring 2024. We asked Rivers a few questions for the 2021 SOAR magazine Campus Greetings section and below are her answers.Favorite class: Never thought I’d say this, but I love Property the most so far. I’m very excited to take Criminal Law in my 2L year, though!Favorite interests in your downtime: I love to read! As of September, I’m on book 33 of my 50 book goal for the year! I also love to cook. Advice: Embrace the discomfort in big life transitions! Starting college, taking on a new job, and moving far away are all opportunities for growth. Don’t let those hurdles stop you from achieving your goals! Future plans: I’m still deciding! My short-term goal is to do well in these classes!*We had to ask her…how many books did you finally read in 2021: I ended up reading 46!! Didn’t achieve my 50 book goal sadly – law school got too busy for me! Made my goal 40 for 2022 because it’ll be a busy year!Keep up the great work, Rivers. We are all proud of you!
