The Donoho School and K98 Scholar-Athlete of the Week: Sara Elizabeth Mason

Sara Elizabeth Mason, a junior, is a member of the varsity cheerleading squad, a member of the varsity basketball team, and a member of the varsity girls’ tennis team.

Sara Elizabeth carries a 3.9 GPA, and her favorite subject is science. When asked why this was her favorite subject, she commented, “Science intrigues me and my future plans include being in the medical field in some capacity.” Her greatest academic achievements are being inducted into the Spanish National Honor Society, the Junior National Honor Society, and being invited to be a member of Mu Alpha Theta.

When asked who has had the most impact on her athletically, Sara Elizabeth said, “My brother, Walker, because he was a really good athlete, was a role model to younger students at Donoho, and won numerous awards in football and baseball.”

She is a member of the Student Government Association, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Students, Focus Group, Knox Concert Service Committee, Marksmanship Club, Science Club, Spanish Club and Teenage Republicans Club. She is also involved in the DD Club and a member of the Word Alive Youth Group.

Sara Elizabeth is the daughter of Jeff and Jamie Mason of Anniston and sister of Walker, ‘12. She plans to attend the University of Alabama and major in biology with plans to become a nurse practitioner.
