Donoho Honors Dr. Anand Iyer ’03 and Mr. and Mrs. Thagard

On Thursday, September 27, The Donoho School hosted a dinner at Classic on Noble in celebration of two most notable occasions: the naming of The Redge and Jeanie Thagard Honor Scholarship and the recognition of Dr. Anand Iyer (’03) as Outstanding Alumnus 2018. The first two honorees, Mr. and Mrs. Thagard, were long-time faculty members, mentors, and sources of inspiration for our students during their long tenures at the school. In celebration of their dedication and inspiring impact, The Donoho School Board of Directors renamed The Donoho School Honor Scholarship to The Redge and Jeanie Thagard Honor Scholarship. The third honoree, Dr. Anand Iyer (’03), is this year’s Outstanding Alumnus. Dr. Iyer is an exceptional physician who has devoted his life to research and service to those suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). His list of accomplishments is immense, as is his dedication to serving others. Former Headmaster George “Dee” Gorey spoke eloquently about Dr. Iyer as a student, and Dr. Iyer spoke about how much Donoho has impacted his life. It was a wonderful event recognizing some of the best of Donoho’s past, and it was truly a pleasure to honor Mr. and Mrs. “T” and Dr. Iyer.
