Congratulations to the 2023 Outstanding Alumni

The Donoho School selects an Outstanding Alumnus/Alumna of the Year annually to recognize a graduate who has distinguished themselves through achievements since graduating from Donoho. Past honorees have excelled in business, academia, medicine, and service. Our 61 recipients epitomize the values of our mission, and we are very proud to announce the 2023 Outstanding Alumnus of the Year, George W. Connors, IV ‘78.

While at Donoho, George was very involved. From running track and playing soccer to participating in clubs such as Hi-Y, the Science and French Clubs, National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. His senior year, he was the recipient of the Thespian Award.

George graduated from Donoho in 1978 and then from Centre College in 1982 with a B.S. degree in Economics. After college graduation, he moved to Washington, D.C. in 1983 to pursue graduate studies and begin a career in commercial banking. George continued his studies at George Mason University in Virginia, graduating in 1990 with an MBA in Finance.

George has had a career in the commercial banking industry in the Washington, D.C. area for forty years. He also thanks these special teachers who made a difference in his life: Mr. Dee Gorey, Mr. Redge Thagard, and the late Mrs. Julia Murray. George states that he would not be where he is today if not for the discipline and attention received from the Donoho community!

Please join us in congratulating The Donoho School 2023 Outstanding Alumnus of the Year – Mr. George W. Connors, IV, Class of 1978.
