The Donoho School athletic program includes both individual and team sports that complement the school's mission promoting academic excellence. Included are the objectives of developing self-confidence, determination, effort control, and motivation while instilling respect, pride, and commitment to a goal. Coaches are committed to promoting skills development, team play, and sportsmanship at all levels. Emphasis is on participation at the junior high and junior varsity levels. Each Upper and Middle School student is encouraged to consider participation in the various sports offered: football, basketball, volleyball, golf, soccer, tennis, track, softball, baseball, and cheerleading.

Athletic facilities include Lentz Field, housing a 400m all-weather track and football/soccer field. Separate lower and upper school gymnasiums offer opportunities for all grade levels to have daily physical education and after school interscholastic athletics. The beautiful upper school Sproull Gymnasium features two volleyball courts, two basketball courts, and a weight room in addition to athletic department offices. Rounding out the athletic facilities is the McWhorter-Brock baseball stadium. Ten tennis courts and an eighteen-hole golf course at the nearby Anniston Country Club provide extraordinary facilities for the school’s interscholastic golf and tennis program.

Students transferring to The Donoho School who plan to participate in athletics are not eligible for financial aid during the first year of enrollment.
