The
Writers Bowl is an annual writing competition
hosted by Jacksonville State University. Participants
are grouped together in teams of six, and asked
to write two pieces of literature. Winning teams
receive recognition by the J.S.U. English faculty
and are awarded medals. Each team consists of
two sophomores, two juniors, and two seniors.
Additionally, students may enter an optional essay
competition for individual recognition. The competition
provides students the opportunity to express themselves
creatively, to work together as a group, and to
enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded students
from across the state.
