Mission
The
Donoho School's mission is to provide a quality
college-preparatory education to capable, highly
motivated students. The School is committed to
the development of the total child by providing
a challenging curriculum in an atmosphere conducive
to good citizenship, personal integrity, and devotion
to religious principles. The school's academic,
athletics, fine arts, and other student activities
are designed to fulfill this commitment.
Student Body
More than 400 students from widely diverse
backgrounds attend the school's three divisions
which include four-year kindergarten through grade
12. They are characterized by intellectual curiosity,
a desire to excel academically, and average to
above average inherent intelligence. Donoho students
consistently score well above average on national
standardized achievement tests.
National Merit Scholars
Nearly 12 percent of all Donoho graduates have
been National Merit Finalists, Semifinalists,
or Commended students. Over the past ten years,
the Donoho School has had more National Merit
Scholar Finalists than the total of all other
Calhoun County schools combined. Less than one
half of one percent of the nation's students become
National Merit Finalists. The Class of '08 had two finalists.
Iowa Test of Basic Skills
All students in grades kindergarten through eight
are required to take the Iowa Test of Basic Skills
each year. National and Donoho scores for 2008
