The Penfeather is the newspaper publication written and designed by ninth through twelfth grade students. Since a traditional journalism class is not offered, students may opt to participate on the newspaper staff as an extracurricular activity. Editors are selected from the senior staff members by the sponsor and approved by the faculty. These senior students meet for one period each day and receive one credit for their work.

The staff publishes several issues throughout the year, with the final issue honoring the senior class and its activities.
