The Donoho School and K98 Scholar-Athlete of the Week: Dalten Martin

Dalten Martin, a senior, is a member of the varsity football team, playing as a wide receiver and cornerback, and a member of the varsity baseball team, playing as a third-baseman and outfielder.

Dalten carries a 3.7 GPA and scored a 28 on the ACT. His favorite subject is English. When asked why this was his favorite subject, he comments, “I’ve always enjoyed reading and writing.” His greatest academic achievement was his recent induction into the National Honor Society, a prestigious group that he feels exhibits his hard work academically.

When asked who has had the most impact on him both academically and athletically, Dalten says, “My mom, Alesia, I believe has influenced me the most in both areas. She has always been my biggest supporter, encouraging me to always do my best and work hard.”

He is a member of the Knox Concert Service Committee, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Students, Focus Group, Marksmanship Club, Teenage Republicans Club and Science Club. He is also involved at Grace Baptist Church, coaches his brother’s basketball team, and tutors his peers.


Dalten is the son of Alesia Miller and Neal Martin. He plans to attend Auburn University and major in English with a minor in political science. Following college, he would like to attend law school at Samford University obtaining a degree in civil law.
