A Note from Mr Noone

Welcoming Old Friends and Meeting New Ones!

The dust has settled, and we are catching our breath after a truly fantastic Homecoming/Alumni Weekend! The festivities began on Thursday evening honoring Bill Lawrence ’85 at this year’s Outstanding Alumni dinner. Events continued with the Homecoming Pep Rally, Alumni Tailgate, Homecoming Game, and Homecoming Dance all on Friday and culminated with the Alumni Day on Saturday. At every turn were old friends, some gone for only a month or two and some for decades. They were thrilled to be back on campus, at the place that played such an important part in their lives. Each year, I am honored to meet more and more Falcons from the past, ready to share their stories and their love of Donoho. I also love hearing from our recent graduates. I sense their excitement about their new lives in college and the new adventures they are undertaking. I have said many times that a great independent school is a family, and nothing reinforces that belief of shared experience, values, and love of place more than alumni events.
October brings a new season of activities. Crisp evenings and fall foliage will soon bring new excitement to the hill. Let’s take the time to gather more with our Donoho family. Come to the games. Make the memories because, one day, the students of today will be alumni. The times they spend at Donoho will truly be some of their best memories. Share it with them.
