Donoho Scholars Bowl Wins State

The Donoho School Scholars Bowl Team traveled to Huntington College in Montgomery and captured the 2018-2019 AISA State Championship. The team entered the tournament as the #1 seed and lived up to to their placing by sweeping pool play with victories of 450-100 over #8 Tuscaloosa Academy; 440-220 over #4 Springwood School; and 240-210 over #5 Houston Academy.

In the finals, the Falcons started slow before catching fire halfway through the first period on the way to a 400-160 victory over #2 Morgan Academy. In addition to the team championship, senior James Perry was awarded the plaque for the highest score in the tournament, the equivalent of the MVP. Five of the six team members were part of last year’s State Runner-up team, so the victory was especially satisfying.

Way to go Falcons!
