Scholarships
 
Minority Scholarship:
Based upon the reputation of The Donoho School in the community for providing an excellent education to its students, Liberty National Life Insurance Company/Torchmark Corporation of Birmingham has established an endowed scholarship for African-American students at the school with a contribution of $100,000. The scholarship will be awarded to assist an African-American student who currently attends The Donoho School, or has been accepted for admission to the school. Application procedures for all prospective students are located here... The scholarship awarded may cover up to 50% of the yearly tuition fee. The recipient must have demonstrated that he/she possesses the requisite skills, aptitude, abilities and desire for success necessary at The Donoho School. He/She must also show that financial assistance is required in order to attend or continue attending The Donoho School.


 
Financial Assistance
 

Financial assistance may be available to parents of students in grades 1-12 that qualify. Consideration for financial assistance will only be offered for students currently enrolled at The Donoho School, or for whom acceptance for the next school year has been confirmed. Application procedures for all prospective students are located here... Financial assistance offered may cover up to 50% of the yearly tuition fee.

Students transferring to The Donoho School who plan to participate in athletics are not eligible for financial aid during the first year of enrollment. (AHSAA Handbook, page 52, Bylaws - Administration, "SECTION 11. RECRUITING. A student that transfers to a member school and receives any financial aid shall remain ineligible at that school for one year.")


 
Financial Need Analysis
 

FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment will be conducting the financial need analysis for The Donoho School for the upcoming 2008-2009 school year. Families applying for financial aid will need to complete an application and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment by February 29, 2008.

Paper applications will be available in the lower school office on February 1, 2008. Current students may apply online beginning February 1, 2008, at www.factstuitionaid.com.

Please note that even if you apply online, there are documents that MUST be mailed to FACTS to complete the application process. FACTS will provide a self-addressed envelope for you to mail the following information:
1. Signed and completed paper application
2. Payment of the $20 application fee
3. Copies of your most recent tax forms, including all supporting tax schedules.
4. Copies of your 2007 W-2 form for both you and your spouse.
5. Copies of supporting documentation for Social Security Income, Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers’ Compensation, TANF.

New students may begin the application process March 1, 2008.
