English Teacher
The Donoho School is a seeking a dynamic educator with a passion for teaching English to fill a full-time teaching position for the 2017-18 school year. The ideal candidate for this position is a team player, a creative problem-solver who is comfortable working with and challenging both middle and high school students, adept at utilizing a variety of instructional practices and technologies, and excited at the prospect of joining a welcoming, professional, academic environment.

Necessary Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in English or a closely-related field
An understanding of the importance of teaching English in modern education and enthusiasm for teaching
Knowledge of - and the willingness to use - multiple teaching strategies and emerging educational technologies
A willingness to work together with other English faculty to maintain an integrated, vertically-aligned English department
A desire to better oneself through professional development opportunities and collaboration with co-workers
Quality references that can speak to one's teaching ability as well as one's capacity for connecting with students

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in English or a closely-related field
The talent, flexibility, and willingness to contribute in capacities other than teaching, such as coaching or advising clubs
Educational and/or teaching experience in fields other than English, but in a closely-related field

Lower School Teacher
The Donoho School is seeking a full-time Lower School classroom teacher for the 2017-2018 school year.

The successful candidate will:
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of all subject areas, particularly English/ Language Arts and math
  • Use effective teaching methods and develop engaging and integrated curriculum that includes technology
  • Support a program that meets the social, emotional, cognitive, physical and creative needs of individual students and the community manage a classroom environment that is efficient, comfortable, neat, attractive, and engaging
  • Communicate effectively with students and parents
  • Work collaboratively with department faculty and administration.
  • Candidates will embrace the school’s mission and work in a team environment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree preferred.

Director of Instructional Technology
The Donoho School is seeking a full-time Director of  Instructional Technology for the 2017-2018 school year.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing basic computer skills to each K5 - Grade 6 class once a week in the Lower School computer lab or with iPads.
  • Collaborating with faculty in the development of tech integration curricula and projects.
  • Working with Division/Curriculum Directors to ensure that the school’s direct and indirect technology curriculum support current needs and prepares students for future trends in technological fields and to assist in providing timely and forward-thinking professional development for faculty.
  • Providing maintenance and support on all school-owned devices for faculty, staff and students.
  • Maintaining and monitoring the technology budget.
  • Maintaining an inventory of all technology equipment.
  • Serving as the network administrator for infrastructure support, including all hardware/software and connections (i.e. switches, routers, wireless, Ethernet, security cameras and DVR, bells, telephone system, interactive smart boards and audio/visual equipment), and providing support for the electronic student records system.
  • Supervising and coordinating outsourced support staff as needed in order to maintain systems.

Required Skills:

  • Experience supporting students and faculty
  • Outstanding communication skills and detail-oriented work habits
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; prior classroom teaching experience desired

Junior High Head Coach Positions

Presently, the following Varsity Head Coach positions are available for the 2017-2018 school year:
  • Junior High Volleyball (A Team and B Team) - 2 coaching positions available
These positions are part-time, stipend positions that do not have a full time position at The Donoho School to accompany them. Prior coaching experience in an independent school setting is preferred. All Donoho coaches are expected to inspire scholar-athletes to reach their full academic and personal potential, live the School’s mission and core values on a daily basis, and develop healthy and lasting relationships throughout the Donoho community.
