The Fine Arts play an important role in the life of The Donoho School. Self expression and experiences in both the visual and performing arts (vocal and instrumental music, drama) are placed among the top priorities at the school. Each class in the Lower School has weekly instruction in art and music. Likewise, every student participates in a music production each year. In the Upper School, required art and music courses, two drama productions, and numerous music presentations both at school and in the community each year are features of the Fine Arts Department.
The Burt Fargason Fine Arts Center houses the school’s performing and visual arts programs. The Center for the Fine Arts houses a spacious band room with individual practice rooms, a choral room and a visual arts studio. Private lessons are offered in voice, piano, guitar, and violin.
Throughout the school year student art work is featured. In addition, art exhibits of both professional and amateur artists from outside the state as well as the region are sponsored by The Donoho School Parents' Association Fine Arts Committee.
Note: The Donoho School reserves the right to retain examples of student art work for the school's permanent collection, exhibition, or publication.
