Admissions Application Procedures
 

The Donoho School admits students of average to above average ability, who have demonstrated an ability and willingness to perform well, and for whom parents have college aspirations. The admissions application procedure is designed to assure in as much as possible, that the student will be capable and comfortable in meeting the goals and objectives inherent within that setting.

APPLICATION
The following must be completed before a students' application will be considered for enrollment:
· Application for enrollment
· Application fee ($25.00)
· Testing by school official
· Testing fee ($40.00)
· Student Application for Enrollment (for students applying for admission to grades 7-12)
· Copies of previous school records (for students applying for admission to grades 1-12):
· Nationally normed, standardized test scores from the most recent school year available (e.g., Stanford Achievement Test, Iowa Test of Basic Skills, California Achievement Test, etc.)
· Complete, official transcript for all grades completed (If applying for admission for current school year, up-to-date grades must be supplied.)
· Confidential recommendation from previous school official (math or English teacher, counselor, or administrator) who has had significant contact with student during the current or previous school year.
· Informal interview with school official

Applications and descriptive school information may be obtained either in hard copy from the school or downloaded from the school website.

It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure that all required information has been submitted to the Admissions Office. A student's file must be complete before the admissions committee will review it.

APPLICATION TIMETABLE
The Donoho School utilizes a rolling admissions procedure with applications accepted throughout the school year. Applications for 12th grade will only be accepted prior to the beginning of the school year and must be approved by the admissions committee and The Donoho School's Board of Directors. Parents of candidates will be informed of the admission committee's decision within two weeks after their files are complete.

The fee for all applications is $25.

TESTING
The Donoho School requires that all applicants complete a battery of entrance tests. Students applying for admission to pre-kindergarten and kindergarten will be given an aptitude test as well as an early childhood inventory. Students applying for admission to first through twelfth grades will be given an aptitude test as well as one or more tests of reading comprehension and fluency. A test of mathematical proficiency may also be administered.

The fee for any testing is $40.00.

INTERVIEWS
While The Donoho School does not require formal interviews as part of the admissions process, campus visits and opportunities to learn more about the program before making the decision to apply are encouraged.

A school official will meet with each student prior to his/her file being presented to the admissions committee.
