Alumna Karen Hester ’77  to be Inducted into Calhoun County Sports Hall of Fame Posthumously

The Donoho School’s beloved Ms. Karen Hester will be honored posthumously at the Calhoun County Sports Hall of Fame’s 14th annual induction along with five other inductees.

The late Ms. Hester became a full-time teacher and coach at The Donoho School in 1980 and remained on as a faculty member and coach until retiring in 2013 as the Dean of Students. She coached junior high and varsity volleyball, varsity basketball, varsity softball, track and field, and golf.

The induction ceremony will be on Saturday, June 16 at the Oxford Civic Center. A reception begins at 5:00 p.m. with the program beginning at 6:15 p.m. The meal will be catered by Classic on Noble. Anyone wishing to attend may order tickets by sending a check made payable to the Calhoun County Sports Hall of Fame to P.O. Box 729 Jacksonville, AL 36265. Tickets are $25 each.
